Ottawa!

Well, it has been quite an adventure so far.
This was me arriving at my digs in Ottawa.
The welcome sign was nice but not so sure about the guy on the top step.

Pretty imposing backdrop. Yep, that is ice in the river - better hadn't fall in.

You wouldn't believe the BS that goes on that building. It is supposedly Canada's seat of

government.  Personally  I think it is another kind of seat and it is my Canadian friend's money

that gets flushed.   Much nicer out here toasting my tush by the eternal flame

Ottawa's National Hockey team. They celebrated twenty years by not winning the Stanley cup

- as usual

Not sure what this confederation business is all about but if I'm in Canada on July 1st

I'll be sure to check it out.

Leaving Home and Starting Out

 It's scary seeing the big wide world for the first time

 All I have to do is go down these stairs and my adventure will begin

 I CAN DO THIS!!!

 This is Halifax Harbour.  This is the Atlantic Ocean.  Very interesting.

From here I could go to Iceland, Greenland, or even the UK or Europe.  I think it might be a bit too cold for swimming though.

Maybe I could get there on a container ship?

No, I think that I'll start with exploring North America.
